/project_story
LMB is a visual novel set in a small, isolated world where there is only one House. Characters encounter themes such as grief, belonging and personal history. The game offers players a calm, unhurried experience that exists somewhere between a dream and a memory.
I created everything from scratch, including world creation, the story and script, character design and personalities, background illustrations, programming and interface design, and sound design and music selection.
The entire project was a personal exploration of how different creative disciplines, such as writing, visual effects and sound, can collaborate to tell a story. I also created it because I have always dreamed of making games
/process
1. Concept development
To be honest, I can't remember how I came up with the idea. But I wanted to explore the inner world of a character who didn't want to be alone after death, so he started capturing the souls of other dying people. I wrote out the fates and personalities of each of them, and the plot of the game, along with all its possible outcomes, emerged as a mind map in the MindNode app

2. Character design
I designed each character so that their appearance would reflect their personality

3. Backgrounds
As I never knew how to draw backgrounds, I made life easier for myself by using LOTS of references and stamp brushes to depict nature

4. Coding & game development
The entire game was built in Ren’Py. I wrote the script in Python, coded the dialogues and choices, and designed the interface

5. Sound & music
I searched for music and sound effects with an open licence. Then, I edited and formatted them using Audacity

The result is a slow-paced visual novel with an emotional depth that is conveyed through a blend of narrative, illustration and sound. LMB is a gentle space for reflection and subtle storytelling
/reflection
This project was very important to me. It was my first attempt at game development. It showed me that I am a multidisciplinary creator. I found it fascinating to work on the script, art, code and sound simultaneously. I remembered that feeling and later experienced it again in web design
